I was born and raised in Mumbai, India and worked successfully as a trainer, columnist and lecturer for over 4 years in Mumbai. I moved to the United States in November 2002. I worked as a fitness director for a personal training studio in NJ and then decided to start my own personal training business called Total Activation.

I have an MS in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention and a BS in Physical Therapy. I am professionaly certified by the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). I also have a certification in Advanced Exercise Nutrition from Human Kinetics, USA.

8 years of training experience has taught me one thing - clients should be able to talk to a trainer anytime, anywhere. These days, email is the best way to communicate for most people. That's why I work with clients in 8 countries using an online personal training and nutrition service and support with me for a monthly fee. I will make Phone Fitness Training my full time profession in late 2006.

As the owner of Total Activation, LLC (serving Bergen County, NJ) and Phone Fitness Trainer, LLC (serving clients across the world), I understand the importance of an integrated approach to fitness. I understand the lifestyle you live, the stress you feel and the approach you need, since I reduced my weight from 280 lbs to 190 lbs during high school through sheer determination.

I have been recognized as the official fitness trainer for the 'Bollywood Awards 2004', attended by Sharon Stone and other celebrities, interviewed on TV and labelled the 'Fitness Guru' of North America on CH 14 Canada and appeared as fitness expert on radio station WCNJ 89.3 FM and EBC radio 103.5 FM. I have also served as an adjunt faculty member on Health, Wellness and Kineseology at Millersville University, PA. I was a guest speaker at the annual South Asian Student's Association 2005 in Los Angeles, CA and at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor on February 3 2006. Currently, I am a featured speaker for NCAA Champs Life Skills & Higher Education Programming for IceBox International.

I write a weekly fitness column for the Observer - Kearny, NJ. I am currently writing my first book on fitness, due to be released in April 2007.
